Still Alive

Hello blog friends! It has been a hot second since I popped in around here.  My sincere apologies, finals, graduation, moving out, being homeless, and finally moving in and obtaining internet connection got the best of me!

Let’s rewind shall we?

So I graduated.  It was pure chaos and I am not even sure how to begin to describe the experience, but I will say it was filled with tons of fun.  I think I ate more red meat during the past few weeks than I have in the past year. Oh well, #YOHOSY (You Only Have One Senior Year). Oh and the beer.  I drank lots of that good stuff, kicking off the week with beers in the Library the night before my last final.  Check off the senior bucket list!

A lot of people at UCSB decorate their graduation caps and I thought it was only appropriate to adorn mine with the mass amounts of wine corks that one accumulates during your senior year.  I literally took a kitchen knife to saw the wine corks in half then used fabric glue to secure them on my cap.  Simple as that.

My family got into town the day before graduation and massive slices of pizza were in order for lunch.

Get it girl.

IMG_2830We ate dinner at Chuck’s Waterfront Grill and I had some Teriyaki Pineapple Chicken which was delicious.  Seeing that my sisters and I are only ever in the same place twice a year, we took some pictures by the water.  Next years Christmas Card?!

Gahhh the oceans and mountains all in one picture, I love Santa Barbara!!!

IMG_2841After snapping a few pics we realized the boat were standing in front of was named the “Theresa Ann.”  My name is Theresa AnnE, but close enough!

Shameless Selfies during the graduation ceremony.  We had some TERRIBLE speaker who honest to god talked about flushing a rat down her toilet.  REALLY?!?! This is supposed to motivate and inspire my future?

Oh well, I made it across the stage without tripping! The moment went by so quickly, it was without a doubt a surreal experience.  After some family photos it was time to PARTAYYYY.

Rather than going out to dinner my roomies and I hosted all our families in our backyard.  The sun finally came out (darn you June Gloom) just as the party was getting started which was awesome.  We dined on tri-tip, salad, cornbread, fruit, lemon bars, and apparently the new category of my food pyramid, beer.  But the beer was not only for sipping, we put it to good use in the form of family flip-cup and father-daughter beer pong.  Teaching our parents what we learned in college. #Gauchopride

IMG_2872The day after graduation, my family took a little drive to Santa Ynez to grab lunch at Cold Springs Tavern, which is this old little restaurant in the mountains that looks like it belongs in Frontier Land at Disneyland.  I ordered the Bison Burger which was divine.  Generally I am not a burger fan but sometimes they just sound like the only thing that will hit the spot.  Craving Satisfied! After lunch I loaded off some extra stuff from my house on my parents then said sayonara.  It was weird saying goodbye to them and I kept having flashbacks to when they dropped my off at the dorms freshmen year.  I’m on my own again….

Okay so there is the recap of graduation, but I still need to fill you guys in on the food I have been eating since! Hopefully getting back into the routine is easy, because I have missed it dearly.

So fill me in, what is the coolest thing you have done in the past month during my absence from cyberspace?
